A question of tipples

Did you know that the Bombay Sapphire Gin factory burned down last year? Gavin just told me that back stage at The Earl in Atlanta, Georgia, preparing to kick off our tour of the States. He's full of interesting facts like that. I'm on a bit of a downer so was thinking about having a drink and someone suggested Gin. My god I think not. You know what they say about that particular tipple, I'll be crying by the 2nd tune. Instead I'm going for Campari and orange juice. Smiles all the way.

Love Tracyanne

Good old needles and pins...

I stick to wine these days, mostly, although beer is always good when out with the boys. This Scots-Yank hasn't heard of Campari, but I guess it's a kind of aperitif?

Hope you're not down too long. See you in D.C. xo

Welcome back to the states, all! You have been missed. Atlantans may be a bit touchy on the subject of things burning to the ground. I was going to write a longer comment but am getting up now to make myself a gin and tonic. I am bringing recent converts to shows in Virginia and Chicago and am already excited.

Safe traveling.

Loved the show. You were all spot-on even with the bit of a cough.

Hope to see you again soon.

now it all makes sense as to why you went on a bit about gin at your tallahassee gig thursday night. brilliant show, by the way. the only thing that would've made it even better is if you guys performed some of my favourites from 'biggest bluest hi-fi' ('happy new year', 'anti western', 'double feature', 'pen and notebook', 'let's go bowling', and most especially, 'i don't do crowds', which is my anthem) and invited me up on stage to sing with you. :P anyway, thanks for a great kick off to the new year and hope the rest of your tour is fun and amazing and all that good stuff. xo

The show at the 40 Watt in Athens was amazing. You sounded perfect, better than the CD even, and you played my favorite song off the new CD, "Country Mile". Also, Fránçois is awesome, he rocked hard and the trumpet playing was great, I'm glad you found someone so talented to fill in for Nigel.Plus, he has such a great name.

Fránçois is the RawkHawk.

The very first time I got drunk it was on Campari. Not good memories.

I still wonder from time to time how long it took all of you to get through the bucket-o-booze I sent you in Minneapolis last year. Hehe.

See you in Chicago.

Wonderful show at the (always comfy) 40Watt. I've been to many shows & I can honestly say that there have been very few when I came out this, well, happy feeling. Thank you all for the great performance (and great Sheena Easton cover). I was a bit amused when Tracyanne finally responded to the "El Nino" guy.

Oh...my friend wanted me to ask: How'd we do with the handclaps on "I Need All The Friends I Can Get"? (is that title a Peanuts reference, by the way?)

Gin is lovely; it's always brightened my day. You ever try that Hendrick's stuff, from back in your part of the world?

Campari and orange... I've got a friend who swears by Campari and grapefruit juice, which tastes to me like wormwood mixed with vinegar and regret. I suppose the orange might make it only bittersweet, but even bittersweet doesn't sound life-affirming.
See you in Seattle; maybe they'll fix that problem with the monitors this time, eh?

Hey there. I'm looking forward to Saturday's show at The Paradise. It will be my first, so, yes, I'll be the virgin in the crowd.

I'm looking forward to hearing your stuff live and am hoping you'll have some CDs for sale!

It's going to be a great show and the local underground community has been talking about it, at WERS-FM and other areas. Good luck and take care!

Cheers,

the show at warsaw was quite nice, thank you very much. afterward, my friends and i were sitting in a bar, and all the people in camera obscura came and opened up the door, but then they immediately closed it and went to the bar across the street. i assume it was me. i'm so sorry.

I personally think that gin tastes like pinesol. Not that I would ever drink pinesol but I would imagine that they taste similar. See you in Oregon.

Hi, I´ve no doubts that the Factory was a hell of a place, and yes it´s sad that the places where your memories lived no longer exists. Sorry about that.
